Login but no program access.

I have an application term srv 2003 R2. This is also my license server. I

registered my server but I havent purchased any licenses yet. I am setup for

per user mode. I must configure this server 100% before I purchase licenses.

I am about one month into my eval period.

I had to install my programs by cmd prompt, change user /install. My exe's

are not all named setup.exe. When I view Add & Remove programs, I don't see

all of my prog in there.

When I log in as admin, I can run all my programs. When I login as a user, I

can access only two network programs. All programs are on the same drive that

I can access when I browse the network. I can also use MS word & excel. I

get the following error when I try to access other programs.

(Windows cannot access the specified device, path, of file. You may not hace

the appropiate premissions to access the item.)

I must set it up that all users can access all programs that is on the server.

Can you help me?

Re: Login but no program access.

This is caused bi IEES. Check here for the solution:

When users start a program, they get a "file download" dialog box,

or an error message: "Windows cannot access the specified device,

path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to

access the item."

Re: Login but no program access.

Your solution worked. I could not set it up through the GPO's. It said that I

didn't have premissions to change the policy. I configed the Inet Zone.

I need to remove one program from the machine. It isn't in Add& Remove. How

do I remove it?

Thank you for you help.

Re: Login but no program access.

Check in the application folder and the application's entry on the

Start Menu if there is an uninstaller.

Re: Login but no program access.

Then you'll have to do it manually by removing the application and

its registry keys.

Re: Login but no program access.

Which keys, do I need to go under? Or should I just do a search for the

program name?
