usrlogon.cmd window appears for 15 sec

Hi all

 

We have two Terminal server one host Accpac and the other hosts Crystal

report app. From last 2 weeks access from Terminal server has been slow. As a

trouble shooting steps I did the following:

 

1. Defrag and virus check.

2. Restarted server.

3. Disk cleanup.

4. Checked the registry entry for Accpac application.

 

All checked out well. Today i have also noticed that when I log in a window

usrlogon.cmd apears for 15 sec before it logs me in. It happens for both the

Terminal Server. Logging into other servers are fine.

I dont think usrlogon.cmd is an issue here - it would probably be a startup

logon script.

 

Does AccPac do any enumeration of sessions or printers or devices or drives?

As the user sessions increase these resource counts would also increase.

So, the sessions might see a slowness when these resources are being

enumerated.

 

If some of these resources are not needed, (Eg: printers), can you disable

them and see if it improves perf?

I solved the issue. Actually the secondary dns was an unknow dns address so

I changed to a know dns address i know.

 

Which is raises some question as why it would creat a slowdown as i thought

if the first dns address i correct it wouldn't check the second one. But

anyway things are good now.
