I'm having a boot up issue with my HP Presario F-700. (I have windows Visa Home version). It sometimes will boot, goes to the desktop, then shuts down. Safe Mode works fine. I've downloaded the latest drivers, but the laptop doesn't stay on long enough for me to update any. Device manager has no errors, yet the laptop can't find my router. Many other people have the same issue with this laptop and it always happens after the warranty has expired. I can install the HP recovery cd, but once it tries to reboot the problem begins. It sounds like it's trying to boot up, but I see the power button turning on and off (never does this in safe Mode).

Can anyone help me?

Thank you.

Hi and welcome to Free PC help,

Have you downloaded or installed anything prior to this fault?

Considering you say that it runs OK in safe mode it may be a conflict in some software that is not loaded in safe mode.

Nev.
