danzil Posted July 7, 2009 Posted July 7, 2009 Hi everyone. May I please ask a little favour. If I or anyone else on this forum helps solve your problem, would you please CONSIDER donating a small amount of money, be it 50p or £1, as they say at tesco "every little helps". But there is that saying "the more the merrier" I only just noticed the bar at the top that says "Target This Month" please help Free Computer Support Forums by FreePCHelp.co.uk reach their targets. We are normal people taking time out of our busy lives to help others...... This will amount to the appreciation, and keep this awesome website running. Many thanks too everyone that donates, your contributions help a lot I am sure. Kindest Regards Danzil:) Quote Windows 10 Pro x64Aqua Jeantech Gaming case550watt psu.MSI Gaming Board32GB DDR3 Corsair gaming RamGenuine Intel i7 3.2Ghz4 x 24x dvdrw 150GB SSD750GB Hybrid Drive256 RAID PCI/E SSD for OSand loads of other bits i really dont need :D
Guest Wolfeymole Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Well the bottom line donation is £5 and although Jamie Oliver might be able to "feed a family" on it quite frankly I'm not convinced, if your a drinking man you'd be lucky to get 2 pints for a fiver unless you frequented a JD Wetherspoon hostelry. All the staff work, and you have to call it that, for absolutely nothing, zero, zilch. Consider this, if in theory Mike paid me minimum wage at £5.73p then my annual salary would be £20800.00 + a year, calculate the hours on that. All of us do this because we enjoy helping other people, it's a simple as that. nothing more, nothing less. Income from the advertisements generates a small amount but is immediately swallowed up by the cost of paying for the server. We thought long and hard about adding the Donation bar at the top, and even though we are in the biggest recession since the 30's, we did feel it was warranted because of the invaluable help offered at all times. However as Danzil said the operative word in all this is and always will be CONSIDER. Donations are entirely down to a member and will always be optional and not mandatory. Wolfey Quote

Plastic Nev Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 Thanks also from me Danzil, it is important to remember that this great site can only exist because of any cash coming in. There are costs which mainly go to the server and the maintenance of the service provided by the server. We would certainly not be able to enjoy the features of this site without the income provided, either by donation or the little that advertising provides. As said, every little helps! Nev. Mara Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 It's always lovely to get help here - and to donate as often as I can. My only complaint ... the nasty exchange rate! Yup, for every $20.00 Canadian, I suspect it's a mere pittance by the time it 'arrives'. :( Quote
RandyL Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 We do appreciate your help too Mara. By the way at todays exchange rate $20 Canadian is 11.188 GBP. Quote We are all members helping other members. Quacker Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 I've added another wee donation as I realised it was a while since I last donated. I figure the cost of advice on here has saved me a few quid and a lot of time. I think it only fair and correct to "give a little back" and once again a timely reminder to give thanks for all the selfless devotion from everyone out there! Thanks again guys! Quote
RandyL Posted January 21, 2010 Posted January 21, 2010 Thank you too. Your appreciation of us means as much as the donation. Quote We are all members helping other members. dazzac1965 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 I've not been using this site for long. But I have used other "Help" site in the past. This is one of the best I've come across everyone (so far) lol here is helpful, trustworthy & sensible. I've just donated!! & will again next month. Other "help" site I've used, not just PC, Cars & DIY too. Some site have people that answer your queries & make you feel as if your stupid & asking & stupid question! As for running costs of a web site, I know that this can be expensive - just for the domain name. Keep up the good work people & a big thank you for all those who are helping & have helped me. Match Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 just for the domain name. actually the domain name is quite cheap in comparison, to the software license's, and server costs, surprisingly most people think that a site makes a lot of its revenue through advertising, well they are easy to spot as they have loads of annoying pop ups and banners plastered everywhere. RandyL Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 I'm afraid Pay Pal is the only method the owner has set up. Yes we do try to make it feel like home. The members and staff really are great. By the way. Did you donate? If so I'll change your status immediately. Either way we appreciate your help and hope you never leave. Quote We are all members helping other members.
