Guest CC Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Hi...can anyone let me know how to get rid of all these errors in the event log. They are coming up on 3 of our Winodws 2000 servers ever since we installed Windows 2003 SBS server on the network. Source: LicenseService Event ID: 213 Type: Warning Replication of license information failed because the License Logging Service on server \\SERVER1 could not be contacted. We think the SBS 2003 server is the primary license server so we are not sure why these other ones have license services running even, is there a way to transfer them from those other servers to the Windows 2003 SBS server? Or can we just disable the license services on those servers we are getting the errors on ? Any help in getting rid of these errors would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, CC

Correct me if I am wrong.
Guest Harry Bates Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Re: License Errors in Event Log Is SERVER1 listed below actually still on your network? If you created AD with a DC, then removed that original DC you will need to transfer license services to another server. To do this: 1. Open Active Directory Sites and Services. 2. Select the site on which the computer is located. 3. Select Licensing Site Settings in the right-hand pane. 4. Press Properties on the Action menu. 5. Under Licensing Computer, Change the licensing server for the site. 1. Open Active Directory Sites and Services. 2. Select the site on which the computer is located. 3. Select Licensing Site Settings in the right-hand pane. 4. Press Properties on the Action menu. 5. Under Licensing Computer, Change the licensing server for the site. An SBS environment can have multiple servers, mutliple sites and multiple DCs. There can only be one SBS server, though, and the domain is limited to one forest and cannot have trust relationships with other domains. Not sure what the answer is to the OP's question, though.
