Will RDP 6.0 work on Windows 2000 Client?

Hello--

 

We have a client that is running Windows 2000 and RDP 5.1 and trying to

remote into a Terminal Server running Windows Server 2003. They just

installed a new desktop printer (HP K5400) and made it their local default

printer--as well as shared it.

 

Other network printers are mapping for this client, but this new local

printer is not. We are troubleshooting by seeing if we install RDP 6.0 if

that will work, but wanted to get any feedback anyone has on doing this.

The RDP 6.0 upgrade package is supported only from Windows XP onwards.

But you can upgrade to rdp 5.2, which supports redirection of network

printers.

 

My guess is that it isn't the client, but the printer model and

driver which is preventing redirection.

Have you checked the EventLog on the W2K TS?
