Please can sombody advise me on the following

I have set up a Terminal Server and a lisense server on the same machine i

created a new group called Terminal Users, i added this to the allow logon

localy under local group policy, i also added this group to the permission

settings in the TS configuration, I have my server setup to per user, the

lisense server is activated.

The problem is that when i log on it allows me to logon fine, but no tempory

lisense is shown in the TS Lisense Screen, i have logged on symaltaniously as

five different users all logged on fine just to prove that it was not stuck

in Remote Administration mode, even the the lisense mode says Per user.

Any Idears why the temp lisenses are not showing

Thanks

Re: Temp Lisenses

There can be couple of reasons,

1. Machine from which you are connecting already have Per Device CALs:

To Verify this, you can use a tool called "Tsctst.exe", Which shows

if a machine have a Per Device CAL. You can download this from following

link

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=9d467a69-57ff-4ae7-96ee-b18c4790cffd&displaylang=en

2. Your Terminal Server (TS) might be getting temp licenses from some other

License Server.

Installing TSLS and TS on same machine does not mean that TS will

contact TSLS of same machine.

If you want that, in that case you will have to specify that in

TSConfig.msc setting
