Hey,

My new procesor and fan have arrived today. Iv opened the box and realise that the new fan has a thing which you turn with a flathead screwdriver by 90 degres put it on the boared then turn again.

My current fan has screws. Will it fit on my current one or am I stuffed?

If it wont work, can I use my current fan instead?

Regards,

J.

Hi

Can you post a picture of the current one and the new one, if possible?

Slightly puzzled by this, the fan should attach to the heat sink, or at least sit over the top of it, did you get a new heat sink with the processor and fan?

Nev.

If the heatsink is the large metal thing, then yes, it came with one.

Current heatsink/fan:

I circled the screws I took a photo of, even though you cant see one.

New heatsink/fan:

(had light trouble with this one - sorry. Crap cam on my phone).

If you take the old Fan and heatsink off, there should be four holes, the the fan and heatsink should just "clip" in to the holes.
