Guest JimB Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Problem with OL 2003 on SB 2003 Server Cannot expand a DL ERROR RECEIVED IS --> CANNOT PERFORM THE REQUESTED OPERATION. THE COMMAND SELECTED IS NOT VALID FOR THIS RECIPIENT. THE OPERATION FAILED" When I try to send the DL mail (which fails,) also receive another error --> "an internal error support function returned an error" Can anyone offer a specific fix for this? Thank You In Advance! Jjb We have been Using OL on our SBS For About two (3) years now with no real problems. This situation we are having only just started. We are a small firm and do not use Exchange. I never really used a DL in mass mailing and usually send multiple emails as independent addresses and this would work fine...Was thinking it might be from an automatic OS and/or OL update? jjb

Why? Outlook uses a file called MAPI.DLL. So does Exchange. The two version are DIFFERENT. So when you install Outlook on an Exchange server, you just overwrote the correct one the Exchange server needs. The best fix for this is to uninstall Outlook and find the MAPI.DLL file on the Exchange CDROM and overwrite the one the server. This maybe the cause or a contribution to your woes.
