'Sleep' on my computer is blanked out.

I can only turn off or turn on and off.

How can I restore 'sleep' or even hibernation

I have seen this happen when the drivers for ACPI (power management) are not installed correctly.

 

Try going to Control panel, System maintenance, then device manager, and checking through the list for any yellow question marks.

 

Did your motherboard or computer come with any driver CD(s)?
