Hello and welcome to the forum.

Firstly please post computer specifications,as in hardware.

Firstly lets reset BIOS and see if that helps.

Restart the computer and it should say on post screen "Press ? to enter setup" ? could be Del,F1,F2 or another.

Enter BIOS load defaults save and exit.

Another thing to try is to power her off and disconnected from wall outlet.

Open her up touch power supply for a few seconds then clean internals.

Download and run:SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer then please post a screen shot of the results.

I just sent another error report and this came up. "You received this message because a hardware device, its driver, or related software has caused a blue screen error. This type of error means the computer has shut down abruptly to protect itself from potential data corruption or loss. In this case, we were unable to detect the specific device or driver that caused the problem."

OK, Haymaker, lets start with the simple stuff first.

It may be overheating due to dust and fluff inside, especially if your computer is more than a couple of years old.

First, is this a desktop computer or a laptop?

If it is a laptop I recommend taking it for repair to a reputable repair shop, laptops are far to fiddly for anyone except a technician.

However if it is a desktop computer, you will need to remove the cover and check for dust and fluff.

The best and safest way to remove it is by using a soft one inch paint brush to loosen the dust, fluff, or general dirt, then blow it out with a can of compressed air (You can get these from most computer shops)

Let us know how you get on and if there is any problem with doing that.

Yes i thought it was a tempreature thing as well but even when its cold in the morning it can restart after about 5 minutes.

The PC is about 3 years old, and i have opened it up and cleaned it out recently.

OK the temperatures do look OK at the moment, but has it been cleaned out recently any way? I really do think you should at least look!

Also have you recently installed anything?

New program perhaps, or new video card or sound card?

Hi again, it looks like you were posting while I was writing as well.

If indeed it isn't long since you cleaned things out, when you do look in this time, remember to turn it off from the power, then check all the plugs and cable connections inside.

Make sure they are properly connected, unplug, then re fit each one in turn, (do one at a time then nothing gets mixed up) to make sure there are no poor or bad connections.

Let us know how it behaves after that.

Please do Spen as this may also be a faulty PSU that is starting to act up.

If the computer is still restarting, but less often now that you have cleaned it out, then it could still be an overheating issue. Your CPU has a high clock (3.4GHz) so I'd expect it to generate allot of heat.

Download a trial edition of Everest Ultimate from the link below:

http://www.lavalys.com:8081/everestultimate502.zip

Install it, and then run it. You should see the round Everest icon followed by a list of temperatures in your system tray at the bottom right, beside the clock.

Right-click the round Everest icon, and select 'System stability test'.

Click Start on the new test window that appears. Let it run for a good five minutes, but don't try to use your computer for anything else during this time, as it will use all of your computers resources.

After it has ran for five minutes, take a screen shot, or make a note of the temperatures, and tell us in your next reply.
