DVD R/W Problems

I have a Sony DVD R/W and a Generic CD R/W. I am running XP Home. There are

exclamation marks in front of both items in my device manager. These devices

just stopped working one day. I think someone did something in my registry. I

have no idea how to fix this problem. This is the message that is listed as

the problem in the device status:

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration

information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

Please HELP!!!

I'm not a computer expert by any means but have you tried deleting the

drivers in the add/remove program and reinstalling them?

Re: DVD R/W Problems

Try removing them in Device Manager. Right click them and select Uninstall.

Reboot the computer and let it redetect them.
