maynardvdm Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Hi i ran msconfig to check my startup, and there is all the programs that should start and then there is one that is blank with the check box ticked, the startup item is blank and command is blank and the location is the same as all the others HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Could i be a virus? I did a full scan bit found nothing. using bitdefender latest version with all updates. Thanks Quote We are all members helping other members. danzil Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 it looks like it may be registry mechanic,,this should be able to be removed using "add n remove".. loads of those items can be disabled usin gmsconfig>startup they are not needed to be loaded at pc startup.. is this an acer machine??? i would remove (not uninstall). PC Pitstop Optimize Scheduler WinampAgent remoteControl IMJPMIG8.1 the acer epower entries can also be removed IF you do not use the fancy buttons for web, email etc and if you do not use epower management,or grid vista i hope that helps kind regards danzil Quote Windows 10 Pro x64Aqua Jeantech Gaming case550watt psu.MSI Gaming Board32GB DDR3 Corsair gaming RamGenuine Intel i7 3.2Ghz4 x 24x dvdrw 150GB SSD750GB Hybrid Drive256 RAID PCI/E SSD for OSand loads of other bits i really dont need :D

danzil Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 hi. i do not use pc pit stop or any so called registry software.... i use nod32 for av,ewido for adware etc,and ccleaner for useless stored items. i run a ewdio scan, then a nod32 scan then run ccleaner......i then use disk cleanup if needed and then run a defrag..... i dont use any software to keep my pc at top performance as half of them are either full of spyware (my opinion) and /or not adequate to do the job. i keep msconfig clean to speed up pc booting times...i use a few registry tweaks but nothing major. thats all i use..some one out there may no some legitimate decent software.... windows live one care is good....the free online check up is worth a go..i use it once a month. on average my pc takes 15-20 to boot into xp and 30-40 to boot to vista..which im very happy with...it all boils down to how much ram, cpu, and free space on your hard drive you have really kind regards danzil Quote Windows 10 Pro x64Aqua Jeantech Gaming case550watt psu.MSI Gaming Board32GB DDR3 Corsair gaming RamGenuine Intel i7 3.2Ghz4 x 24x dvdrw 150GB SSD750GB Hybrid Drive256 RAID PCI/E SSD for OSand loads of other bits i really dont need :D
