leeds1972 Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 my computer was working ok until i upgraded firefox.as soon as new download had installed i clicked on the icon and an error message came up system32\usp10.dll is not a valid windows image. is this going to need a complete re installation of windows? i tried to re install firefox twice but still not working any ideas please Quote
Guest Wolfeymole Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Well Leeds there seems to be plenty of sites offering this DLL as a zip file download but we are not prepared to condone any of them. What I would do in this situation is run a repair of XP, this leaves your personal stuff intact and just replaces system files. Have a read of this site here. samuria Posted July 21, 2009 Posted July 21, 2009 Can you goto start run type cmd press return and in the box that comes up type cd c:\ the type dir c:\usp10.dll /s >c:\test.txt You will see a list of the dll's on your system and the results will be in the text file in c: called test.txt you may have 3 or 4 of these files on your system copy the one from system32\usp10.dll to a safe place and then copy the newest of the others to the system32 directory and see i f that cures it. repeat with the other files if it doesnt work first time Quote
