Guest Fabio Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 what would happen if a child domain looses its parent domain? would everyone have access? to the domain?
Guest Ryan Hanisco Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 RE: Child domain and parents domains Hi Fabio, The answer to this would depend on the mean of loses... If there were just a communication lapse for a while, there wouldn't be any real issues. In the long run, there would generally be issues as the parent objects tombstoned out. Generally the parent will have forest-specific FSMO roles and the roots of DNS root namespace so this would become a problem in time. This wouldn't be an immediate issue though. -- Ryan Hanisco MCSE, MCTS: SQL 2005, Project+ http://www.techsterity.com Chicago, IL Remember: Marking helpful answers helps everyone find the info they need quickly. Guest Fabio Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 RE: Child domain and parents domains Reason why I ask this question is because I am building a dr site and have 2 domain controllers at my working site and wanted to know if I should just add 2 more parent domains or child domains in the dr site. What do you think is the best? I just want to mirror what I have in my working site. "Ryan Hanisco" wrote: > Hi Fabio, > > The answer to this would depend on the mean of loses...
