Thanks for the reply. But let me reiterate: I do not have local servers. DCs

are not a factor here, IOW, I have a dedicated File and Print server but its

at a central locataion (not at the branches). I also want to avoid using

workstations for security, performance and change control purposes.

 

My question is specific: Would using the "print directly to the printer"

send the job (data) directly to the printer or does this data still need to

be sent over the WAN link to the server and then back down to the printer. I

am trying to avoid bogging down the WAN link for user traffic.
