Guest Paul Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 hello, trying to offer some long distance help to a friend who's running ME on a P3-450. He may have inadvertently caused this problem from a windows tweak, but his computer now does not do an auto shut-down from the "start" menu, as it did before, but simply re-boots. Is there is a windows tweak that could affect this, or is it more likely a BIOS problem? thanks for any suggestions... Paul
Guest Mart Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Re: power-down stuck in "re-boot"... The first and simplest advice - especially as he thinks it has been caused by a 'tweak' - is to run System Restore and select the last known time/date BEFORE the problem started, i.e. before he applied the 'tweak'. That should undo the 'tweak' and hopefully restore his auto shut-down.
