Recommended Posts

Hello,

I need at maximum just 2 Concurrent Sessions in Windows XP PRO SP2 using

Remote Desktop and i find this page:

Terminal Server Patch

http://www.kood.org/terminal-server-patch/

It seems to work.

I would like to know if this is legal or not ?

Is it a violation of the EULA ?

Can you help me?

Thanks.

No, it's not legal, it violates the EULA.

Ok, thanks.

What about this commercial solution:

XPUnlimited Classic for Windows XP Professional SP2 ?

http://www.xpunlimited.com/

(XP Unlimited - 5u - Classic v1.9 license)

Is this legal ?

Best Regards.

No, none of these 3rd party products which enable multiple sessions

on XP are legal. Just read the EULA. Or rather: then can be used

legally only if you also buy a full XP desktop license for every

device that connects to an XP host running xpunlimited. Which

doesn't make much sense.

I need at maximum just 2 Concurrent Sessions in Windows XP PRO SP2 using

Remote Desktop, so i can use the Terminal Server Patch buying an extra full

XP desktop license to be legal ?

Or must be a 3rd party product (XP Unlimited) plus an extra full XP desktop

license to be legal ?

What does "a full XP desktop license" means ?

It means I need to buy another Windows XP license, as if i had two PC, right

?

Thank you.

Yes, "a full XP desktop license" means that you need to buy a

second XP license, as if you had another PC.

I recommended that you contact your local Microsoft representative

to get an authorative answer about what's legal and what is not.
