Guest sp2nue@gmail.com Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Folks, I am having a very strange problem with Win 2003 server and RDP. RDP will work normally without problem for a few days, and all of a sudden it will just stop working without any logging or error messages. The symptom is that when a client tries to connect to the server, the normal prompts are presented on the client, and when it tries to establish the connection, the client just disappears without an error. Normally, the client would bring up the window and a session would start, but in this case, it just dies. When this happens, no one can connect and my only option to re-enable it is to reboot the server, which is not a very elegant solution and also difficult to do during production hours. I've done network traces and the RDP packets are getting thru to the server, but they just stop for some reason and everything aborts without anything going in the log on the server or reported back to the client. Any pointers on helping to resolve this much appreciated. This is an 8 cpu 16gb ram box. It had VNC at one point, which is disabled now because I initally thought this was causing the problem, and once disabled it started working fine for about a month, then started happenning again with no known config changes made. Any help appreciated!
