hiding desktop

When I use i.e. I resize it and it doesn't cover my entire desktop.

Is there a way to make the area behind my application window go black

so I don't get distracted by the icons. Then maybe I could click on

the black area and the desktop would reappear. Is this something that

can be done, maybe someone has a program ?

Thanks,

Chris

Double clicking on the Title bar will maximize or return the window to

it's prior state. You can't see icons on the Desktop if the window is

maximized.

Whichever shortcut you are using to launch the window, right click it and

select properties. Under the 'Run' drop-down, choose "Maximized".

If the window still opens small, try this next:

First, *close all other windows*. Now, grab the corners of the window and

drag it to full screen size. Close the window using File>Close, or File>Exit

depending what program you're in. Windows will remember the last screen size

used the next time you open the program.

Re: hiding desktop

Be a lot simpler to just resize it so it DOES cover the desktop, no?
