W2K Srv + Citrix: Message "TS CAL will expire in a few days"

Hi there,

we have the following enviroment: Windows 2000 Server with Citrix Metaframe

XP. We have installed 1600 CALs. Our 1500 Users access the Servers by the

Citrix Java Client.

Some User receive the Message that their Access-License will expire in a few

days.

A view into the Terminalserver-Licensingserver showed that only 690 of 1600

CALs have been assigned. The other users have been assigned temporary

licenses.

Why did the Server not assign the CALs to all the users ?

What happens to the Clients that have been promised that their License will

expire ?`

Does the Server automatically renew the licenses ?

Best Regards

Sven

What's the OS on your clients? Are you running thin clients?

Check the EventLog on the Citrix server to find out why licenses

aren't issued to clients.

Repost with EventID + Source + Description for more help.

Hi Vera,

the Clients connect via Citrix Java Client using Windows 2000 Professional.

We use Citrix Concurrent User Licenses. Whats the matter with the temporary

License ? Under which circumstances does the Server only issue temporary

Licenses and no full CAL ? Does he renew automatically when the license

expires ?

Windows EventLog. Citrix writes to this EventLog as well, like most

other 3rd party software. Check both the System and the Application

log.
