Guest Victor Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 How much bandwidth is required per user for a terminal services connection? For example, if we have a 1.5 Mb T1 coming in, and I remote desktop into the server from home (cable internet, if it makes a difference), how much of that T1 am I using for my session? Basically, we're trying to figure out how many concurrent outside connections we can support at a time. Thanks!
Guest Anthony Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Re: 2003 Terminal Services - Bandwidth There are some figures that you can find on the bandwidth required per use for keyboard, video and mouse. It is very low. What kills it is a client connected drive or printer. To make it work you need to either prevent client drives and printing, or use QOS to prioritise the TS part. Also, if you use a print server instead of client printers, and use PCL5 instead of PCL6, you can reduce printing bandwidth by a large percentage.
