maynardvdm Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 You can check what your current product Id is in the registry. start-run- type regedit, then goto Hkey_loca_machine-software-microsoft-currentversion. click on currentversion then you should see the product id there. DO NOT change anything in the registry just write down the product id. Quote We are all members helping other members. Please return here where you may be able to help someone else. danzil Posted July 27, 2007 Posted July 27, 2007 with dell, you should have a recovery cd..or a button to tap at start up to launch recovery..... your operating system was probably installed using OPK or ghost imaging.so you should not be asked for your "product KEY".and it may already be activted when install. Microsoft allow big comapnies like Dell to activate xp already using gets activated to the dell bios.. can ou get on start then type in the run box msconfig then click on start up...what is in there,,try disabling them all then rebooting...also have you tried system restore in safemode yet (keep tapping f8 at startup). try the above then let me know. kind regards danzil Quote Windows 10 Pro x64Aqua Jeantech Gaming case550watt psu.MSI Gaming Board32GB DDR3 Corsair gaming RamGenuine Intel i7 3.2Ghz4 x 24x dvdrw 150GB SSD750GB Hybrid Drive256 RAID PCI/E SSD for OSand loads of other bits i really dont need :D
