right tryed a system restore it let me go in click on it but nothing happens its as if all the tool programs etc

are stopping me doing eneything tryed regcure etc.its as if its been stopped by the processer the icons are not showing the picture in then ie nero or dvdplayer pro 3 and others, or the same i do now a fare bit but still an amuture plus cant spell that good sorry

Maybe do a full virus scan, to be on the safe side.

done that came up with an old keygen i had.. I deleted it.. nothing else realy IVE ALSO PUT NEW PROGRAMS IN

AND IT INSTALLS THEM FINE BUT WHEN YOU COME TO USE THEM IT FLASHES UP AND SAYS NO FILES WITH

SHORTCUT SOMETHING LIKE THAT NO ERRER CODE ALSO.MY NEXT PROBLEM IS I CANT FORMAT IT BECASE

WHEN I HAD THE DELL BASE THERE WAS NO XP PRO DELL DISK SO IF I DO THAT IT WILL ASK FOR THE ID AND SERIAL CODE WITCH I DONT HAVE TRY FINDING A SERIAL AND ID I CANT ENEYWAY NOT ONE THAT WILL UPDATE WITHOUT BECOMEING A 30 DAY TRIAL AFTER UPDATEING IT ?....{MAYNARDVDM THANKS ENEYWAY

You can check what your current product Id is in the registry. start-run- type regedit, then goto Hkey_loca_machine-software-microsoft-currentversion. click on currentversion then you should see the product id there. DO NOT change anything in the registry just write down the product id.

with dell,you should have a recovery cd..or a button to tap at start up to launch recovery.....

your operating system was probably installed using OPK or ghost imaging.so you should not be asked for your "product KEY".and it may already be activted when install.

Microsoft allow big comapnies like Dell to activate xp already using gets activated to the dell bios..

can ou get on start then type in the run box msconfig then click on start up...what is in there,,try disabling them all then rebooting...also have you tried system restore in safemode yet (keep tapping f8 at startup).

try the above then let me know.
