Hello All,

I am in the process of deploying a Windows 2003 Terminal Server. Is there

anyway to prevent the installation of Outlook Express? I have done searches

on the internet but no one seems to have a definite solution that works

everytime.

Thank

TR

Re: Outlook Express

Try posting the query in "microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general".

I dont think any option in TS can prevent apps from being installed - if the

user has the appropriate privileges.

Re: Outlook Express

You - can't - get rid of it. You - can - stop outlook express from

doing its bitchy little dance when a user logs in group policy.

(makes me wonder if anyone in MSFT ever even tested the effects

of .man profiles)

I went a little further and broke outlook express with NTFS ACL's. =D

Re: Outlook Express

Since the Terminal will very much lock down their sessions, I would be happy

with just not having the icons show up in their quick launch, and Start

menu, so as not to confuse them with Outlook which is being deployed as

their default mail client and this should stop phone calls to the help desk

over the Outlook/Outlook Express issue.

If only Curiosity could kill the terminal user....hehehehehehe...just

kidding.....
