Add a new printer

New to networking and although I’ve installed printers to workstations, I’ve

never installed a new printer to a server. I only know that an IP address is

to be reserved throught DHCP for the new printer if the printer software does

not scan the network and find an unused address. If there is a simple how to

with pictures I would appreciate it. Working with Server 2003

Re: Add a new printer

Hello maurice,

The way is the same, Add printer, Local printer,Create a new port>type Standard

TCP/IP Port, tzpe the ip address ot the printer and choose the driver for

the server software first. If the clinet has another operating system, open

the printer properties, Sharing tab, Additional Drivers.

Best regards
