USB Hard Drive backup

Hi guys,

 

I've read most of the posts from others trying to come up with a suitable backup system.

I've tried RAID mirror without much luck.

This is what I'd like to do and I'm open to suggestions.

We have three networked PC in our dispatch centre.* I want to install a USB external drive on each machine for daily backup.* In the event that the primary drive does not boot or fails,*we can boot from the USB drive and run until such time as the defective drive can be replaced and restored from the USB.* I thought it would be simple.*

Anyone suggest how this can be done.* Oh yeah, we don't have a full time IT guy.* So the backups have to be automatic or with little human help...
