I am recieving a "print spooler crashing" error. My client just installed a

new Toshiba 3510 printer copier,scanner,fax machine. Now we are getting this

error. How do I delete all of the printers and drivers from the server so

that I can start over again with the installtion myself?

To delete the drivers on the server,

-> Open Control Panel -> Printers -> Server Properties -> Drivers

-> Remove the drivers.

<snip from an earlier thread>

All of the Microsoft-supplied printer drivers are tested with Terminal

Services and guaranteed to work. Before using a third-party printer driver,

make sure it has been certified for Terminal Services. There is a Windows

Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) program for getting third-party printer drivers

certified on Terminal Services. Please ask your printer driver vendor to

secure such certification.

Third party drivers on the server are not recommended. Foll is the preferred

order for drivers:

- Mostly native inbox drivers or

- Map the 3rd party printers to native drivers or

- Use WQHL-certified printer driver on the TS server [This can be obtained

from the individual 3rd party sites]

Re: printer spooling errors

Hi,

You could use the cleanspl.exe utility from the Resource Kit Tools:

-------------

Spooler Cleaner (CleanSpl) is a GUI tool that restores the print spooler to

its original state. It deletes all print jobs, printers, printer drivers,

and spool files on a specified local or remote server.

-------------

If you're using Windows Server 2003 you can download it here:
