Windows Server 2003 - Remote Desktop Hanging

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I manage a Microsoft SBS 2003 server. I swapped out routers and since then

when I attempt to connect to the server via Remote Desktop Connection, I can

sign in, however, the connection will hang, it will start to paint the

server desktop and then just stop. I click 'x' on the connection, it will

exit out with no problem. All of the ports I normally open for Remote

Desktop are open like 3389, 4125, etc.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hopefully this is the right group!

It could be MTU issue. These links may help.

connection to remote computer was broken caused by network errorIf the

Remote Desktop screen comes up black and then you receive this error, you

may need test and modify the MTU. These links may help, ...

The client could not connect to the remote computerAfter lowering the

MTU value to 1200 for both Protocol and Tunnel I get immediate connection of

the Remote Desktop session. :-) Thanks for the tip! ...
