Am using Win XP home & Yahoo as home page.

As I switch on the following happens :-

1) Imfo bar appears in bottom right corner saying - 'you have ? emails'

2) double click & my yahoo mail page opens. Mail box on left says ? emails.

3) Then mail box tab says 'You have 0 messages'

Max lost in one go was 12 emails, my basic question is HELP. Are they ghost emails or real & if real are they lost for ever?

Even had one arrive today telling me sender's name & outline of contents, went to mail box & '0' Empty. They are not being redirected to either :- Spam or Trash boxes.

I have re-booted the BT disc to re-est software, but no change.

As I am running security :- AVG free, Norton email scanner / reader, Windows security. If any one can work this oput it would be a great help.

Hi,

It sounds as if your emails are being deleted from the server and not even getting to your inbox.

Do you have a Spam Filter running?

If so check the settings.

I use a free utility that deletes directly from the ISP server - but this is not done automatically - you may well have this option.

AVG has an email scanner option.

If you are using Norton's email scanner does this mean that you have 2 AVs running?

If so they will conflict and cause problems.

If you DO have 2 AVs I would be tempted to uninstall Norton. It is a resource hog.

There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !!
