Hachi Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 When booting my PC some letters in the boot up screen are scrambled (not all) and white vertical lines appear down my LCD monitor, the PC wont boot into windows but i can boot into Safe Mode. When in safe mode the white vertical lines are displayed in Red. I have checked the connections for the monitor but they are ok and i have tested my monitor on my netbook and it works fine, could this be a graphic card issue or something else? My graphics card seems to be working fine in the PC but could be a bad chip or something i guess, please help.... Thanks Hachi Quote
Jelly Bean Posted August 8, 2009 Posted August 8, 2009 Hello and welcome. As your monitor works fine on another machine then it appears your GPU is the issue. Do you know if your graphics card is a PCI slot one? If it is try resitting it into its slot and give computer internals a clean while powered off. JB.
