Jelly Bean Posted August 9, 2009 Posted August 9, 2009 (edited) Hey there. I am not sure if this will give you the information of your router but it is worth a try: The following is what I found on there website. If you logon to the router the information maybe there. Re-configure your router: Open a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, type http://192.168.1.1 into the Address bar and press Enter on the keyboard. Enter the username and password and click OK. Note: The default username and password are both admin (this is case-sensitive). Select Basic from the menu on the left and then select WAN Setting. Set VPI to 0 and VCI to 38. Select Yes from the Active drop-down list, and select Routing from the Mode drop-down list. Select PPPoA from the Encapsulation drop-down list and select VC from the Multiplex drop-down list. Enter your TalkTalk username in the Username box, and enter your password in the Password box. Note: You will have received your username and password in your welcome letter. Your username is usually your broadband telephone number, followed by @talktalk.net. For example, 02079460009@talktalk.net. Under IP Address, set Default Route and NAT to Enabled, and then select Obtain an IP Address Automatically. Under MTU Options, set MTU to 1432 and set RIP to Disabled. Click Submit at the end of the page. Reset and re-configure your router: Open a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, type http://192.168.1.1 into the Address bar and press Enter on the keyboard. Under MTU Options, set MTU to 1432 and set RIP to Disabled. Click Submit at the end of the page. CONFIGURING A SECURE WEP-128 WIRELESS CONNECTION Open up the correct router admin page by browsing to http://192.168.1.1/home_wlan.html (or click the link for direct access) If prompted enter the username and password, by default these are both "admin". Without the quotes obviously. Scroll down to SSID, initially its set to "TalkTalk520", and set it to something that you will remember. This is the name of your network and will be visible to everyone. Try not to make it your surname or address, choose something else. MAKE A NOTE OF IT. Where it says "Authentication Type" choose WEP128bits and the router will have a little think and present you with a section entitled "WEP". In the "WEP" section ensure that "Key#1" is selected and then enter a pass phrase. This must be 13 characters and/or numbers long. This is your wireless password so, again, make sure its not obvious and MAKE A NOTE OF IT. Scroll down and hit SUBMIT to save this Your wireless config is now complete. CONFIGURING A SECURE WPA2-PSK WIRELESS CONNECTION Open up the correct router admin page by browsing to http://192.168.1.1/home_wlan.html (or click the link for direct access) If prompted enter the username and password, by default these are both "admin". Without the quotes obviously. Scroll down to SSID, initially its set to "TalkTalk520", and set it to something that you will remember. This is the name of your network and will be visible to everyone. Try not to make it your surname or address, choose something else. MAKE A NOTE OF IT. Choose your security type where it says "Authentication Type". I use WPA2-PSK and this should work if you have a modern computer. under the WPA-PSK section ensure the is set to TKIP and then enter a pre-shared key. This is your wireless password so, again, make sure its not obvious and MAKE A NOTE OF IT. Scroll down and hit SUBMIT to save this. Your wireless config is now complete.
