Restore Toshiba Satelite pro 300

Hello, not sure if i'm asking this in the right place, I have a Toshiba pro300 windows XP,

I would like to pass it over to my grandson but first i would to restore in back to origanal state, i have a recovery disc but don't no how to use it, could anyone please give me step by step instruction.

Hello Susan and welcome please let me appoligies for late reply,I have had a few computer jobs at home to do for friends.

 

Susan popin the recovery disk and restart the machine.

 

On the black screen it will say press any key to boot from CD/DVD then just hit enter button...

 

Follow any onscreen instructions.

 

You should get a message like this:

 

To repair a Windows XP installation using recovery console, press R.

 

Then press R.

Don't worry about it. It is just 2 forums might have conflicting resolutions. ;)
