How do I know if I can print to my new canon pixma ip3600 in the same way. I have had several attempts to no avail. Jelly Bean Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Hello Bob I found this for you: Consumer Products Support Share Your Printer Over a Home Network Using Windows XP If the computer/laptops are on a wireless network then you should be able to print over the network. Tootech Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 How did your old printer connect - was it wireless direct to your router, or was it USB, connected to your main PC and then shared? It looks like the iP3600 has a USB connection, so it would probably have to be connected to your main PC and then set up as a shared printer - does that sound right? Quote
bob12a Posted August 13, 2009 Author Posted August 13, 2009 Thank you both for your reply Jelly I have used the link to consumer product support to email canon. Tootech exactly as you describe. regarding Both printers I am getting the following error on my laptop when I try sharing Windows cannot connect to the printer. Operation could not be completed (error 0x0000000d). This I have sent to canon Good night both Bob Quote Bob(bob12a)My 3D pictures need red cyan glasses to viewmedion MD8855,Win 7 IE8, Firefox/3, Avast,MS security essentials, NERO 9,malware bytes.Mailwasher pro ,6.54,Roboform,spybot S&D 1.6, Canon ixus 860 X 2,PS CS5
Jelly Bean Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Bob is your laptop Vista? If yes try this: Error message when you try to install a network printer on a Windows Vista-based computer: "Windows cannot connect to the printer Operation could not be completed (error 0x0000000d)" Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
samuria Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 Withe very little info to go on I would guess you need to give the printer an IP or set it up to receive dhcp. I dont know what the default is for that printer Quote
