caskin Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Sysytem XP media .Pc is equipped with slots/drives to accept SD cards, micro and flash cards.How-ever placing known "good cards" in these slots appears to provide no activity or indiction of the card being accepted by the PC.No drive is activated no display is shown? Do I need to activate these card insers slots?Or how do I manage to get PC to read cards using these slot inputs.? When a card is inserted a green light appears at the insert point to show card in system but other than that, nothing? Can you please advise. Tootech Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Have you had a look in Windows Explorer? Those card slots show as drive letters. So say you have a hard drive, DVD drive and 4 card slots you will see them as drive E, F, G and H. Quote

Hi You are correct, but unfortunately the drives do not and have not ever indicated any files available when a card is inserted????Hence my question. I have had some limited succeess by using a uSB card reader, but am still perplexed as to why the drives show no activity when a card is inserted? Jelly Bean Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Caskin was the card reader preinstalled as part of your package? I would check the manufacturers website of your computer/laptop and see if there is a driver download available. However I have a card reader that I fitted myself and it shows in "Computer" it didnt need any drivers. Are there any lights on the card reader when you insert a card? It could be possible the card reader is not connected internaly properly. Just a thought. Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................

Hello and thanks for reply.... .Unable to find driver for this problem although do have all original pC discs. Yes when a card is inserted in the relevant slot a green light activates to show acceptance, but the PC appears not to recognise it If I go into My computor the drives remain "Empty" By using a USB card reader a drive is activated, but that deosnt explain why the cards slots, flash,Sd and mictro are fitted, appear to activate but indictate no files?
