Cannot connect laptop to tv :(

My laptop is a Toshiba L300-1AQ it has a VGA output. I have got an adpter VGA-DVI then the cable connected to the adapter is DVI-HDMI. Then into my tv, My laptop wont find it so no display on tv. Help :(

 

I tried scanning for external display and laptop finds none. Tv is HD ready btw.

Hi, your laptop needs to be configured to send the display out to the VGA socket,go into display properties, (right click an open area of the desktop, then "Properties") you should then click the settings tab to see something similar to this screen shot of my settings.

Nope didnt work, it just doesnt detect the screen being attached it seems :(

it works on a normal pc screen, triedd plugging into a different tv and dont work, nor will it work on desktop

Hi, as you may by now know, this forum is closing and time is running out, I would love to take this further but cannot do much more here. Have a look around, we are recommending several other help sites by most existing members and their preferences, I am sure you will find an answer on one of the many other help sites on the net.
