Hi Guys!

My girlfriends laptop seems to have died, as of last night.

After purchasing some items from tesco direct, just having finalised, the laptop went dead and turned itself off. (obviously there is the issue of the security of her credit card, but Barclays will be alerted today)

Upon turning it back on, the laptop is behaving VERY strangely.

First, after logging the user on, it spends about 2 minutes with a solid light pink screen, something it has never done before.

Then, when it loads itself up, the background pic is as it was before, but all sidebar items (photo tab, clock, weather pane) are replaced by small white rectangles and are unresponsive.

Internet which is normally accessed via a '3' dongle is a no go, infact no networks exist any more according to the computer.

Various errors such as 'not able to access windows service' or similar, and 'Acer enet management has stopped working' pop up.

Also, Avast antivirus has apparently 'stopped reporting in a format that is recongnised by the computer' and is not accessible.

I have used Superantispyware this morning to try and clean up the laptop a bit, but the problems remain.

I am completely stumped!

As a footnote, my girlfriend is unaware of having clicked on any unusual links or allowing anything that she would not do normally.

Any further info, please ask away.

Please help!!

Ok, Somtimes When You Install Software Wrong, It Creates A Software Error,

Have You Got The Windows Vista Recovery Disks, If So Insert, And Restart It Will Say "Boot From Cd" Press Any Key, Press Any key

Select The Repair Option When It Loads Up The Screen, Alternativly If You Have A Restore Point Load It From A Restore Point If This Doesent Work, Please Post That It Has Not Worked,

Chris
