Guest spectreoflight Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Hi, I am running A Windows Server 2003 RC2 server and am trying to add it to the domain. When I try it gives this error message, "The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "xxxxxxx": The remote procedure call failed and did not execute." We have 4 physical sites and among them we have 1 primary domain controller and 3 secondary domain controllers. I am having this problem at one of the secondary sites. We also run ISA Server 2004 to filter our Thin Clients through from the different sites. The site where i am trying to join this server to the domain is the same site where the ISA server is running on the secondary DC there. I had no trouble adding a few Windows XP machines to the domain. Any ideas as to what might cause this? Thanks for any help.

Guest spectreoflight Posted January 22, 2008 Posted January 22, 2008 Re: Windows Server 2003 RPC Fails while trying to Join Domain I checked the ISA server and removed any filters that were in place, I still get that error though.

Guest Joan Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Re: Windows Server 2003 RPC Fails while trying to Join Domain I have encoutered the same problem. The solution in my case: Save isa server current configuration and uninstall. Reinstall isa server 2004. Restore the configuration. Try to join domain. ---------------------- To replay this error: Install ISA Server in standalone 2003 server. Configure your access rules. Promote the server to domain controler. Try to join a new computer to domain. Et Voila !!!
