shrimply Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 Well just to continue with the ever increasing total I figured I might as well add an extra £10 to the monitor cost and get this one Samsung T220 22" TFT Monitor 1680x1050 20,000:1 2ms VGA/DVI Rose Black 3 Years Warranty - Ebuyer I'll leave out the fan just now and that brings the total to £488, so this had better be a really good computer. snow Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 That's a beautiful screen; there's no doubt about it. I use a Samsung T260 and have loved it from the moment I got it. Of course it's totally up to you, and what you can afford. Don't rush it, and make your decisions in your own time. The Machine you have listed is a good compromise between cost and performance, without sacrificing quality. New computers always get more expensive than you'd realise by the time you add a windows license and a new monitor to the cost. Quote Need help with your computer problems? shrimply Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 Cheers, right think I'm just going to order it know, everything seems to be in order. Sure I'll be back once all the parts arrive though and it doesn't work. shrimply Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 OK well order isn't placed yet, currently in argument with Ebuyer over the fact they want to charge me £9.09 for shipping. I know it isn't much but it all adds to the cost and the Scottish Borders is hardly out of the way. Plus I've received plenty of orders from them before and my address has never not qualified for free shipping. shrimply Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 Gave up waiting on a reply to the useless enote system and took a chance and ordered through google checkout, they've charged me for the amount without postage costs so hopefully it will go through fine. Jelly Bean Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Once you have all the parts pop back to forum and we can help you each step of the way. We can even post pictures that would help on were every thing goes. First thing I usaly do is install the mainboard on its standoffs. If the CPU is not already attached I install it before installing the mainboard into the case. Then install PSU. Then start to install other hardware and then power connects. shrimply Posted August 25, 2009 Author Posted August 25, 2009 Thanks, I really do appreciate all the help. Even if I was initially going to spend £350 and have now spent close to £500 ;) I'll keep you updated when the parts arrive, should I continue to post in this thread or start a new thread in the building subsection?
