User profiles appearing on file server.

A file server has minimal- user profiles appearing in its "Documents and

Settings". I have tried researching this but cannot see why it is occuring.

This also happened on the same server before I rebuilt (and not upgraded) it

as W2K3Standard with the same NetBIOS name (though different SID presumeably).

Anyone got any ideas why this would be happening?

RE: User profiles appearing on file server.

If these users are logging into the server or are using terminal sessions to

get into the server, these would be created. Is this the case?

If they are not in the normal place is the folder redirection going on?

RE: User profiles appearing on file server.

Thanks for the reply Ryan.

The users do not have rights to log on via ts, only to connect to file

shares on the server.

The profiles are in the usual place for somone who logs onto the server, but

while for file shares users go through the authentication/authorization lsass

process, they are not permitted to log on locally. No roaming or mandatory

profiles in use in this Domain. Curious!
