Delay Restart for scheduled installations Not Working

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hi,

I have a GPO that sets "Delay Restart for scheduled installations" to

enabled with a value of 15 minutes. Our Windows 2003 SP3 servers

automatically download and install the updates at 6:00am after they are

approved from WSUS. I want to delay the reboot by 15 mins to give our SQL

server a chance to come online first. I set this policy but it is not

working. I did run an RSOP and it is being applied. Any thoughts?

Hello Mike,

So you have 2 GPO's configured, one for SQL server one for the other servers?

Yes.

I have one GPO set for the SQL server to delay the install by 1 minute.

I have the second GPO set for the remaining boxes to delay the install by 15

mins.

I checked the boxes and the correct GP is being applied.

Hello Mike,

And the servers/GPO's are separated in different OU's?
