I need to upgrade Windows 2000 Standard SP4 to Windows 2003 R2 SP2

Enterprise. C: drive contains OS and it is size of 15GB. E: drive (960 GB)

contains data - 15 million tiff images (5kb - 25kb). Is the fact that E:

drive is so big and has high number of small files going to slow down the

upgrade? I have a limited time frame (few hours) for the upgrade and I want

to make sure that the upgrade completes within my time frame. What

potentially might be other factors that may slow down the upgrade process?

Thank you.

RE: upgrade to 2003

Hi mtler,

You should have an issue with the E: drive in the upgrade. You may have a

longer-term issue with the 15GB system partition though. You will have to be

very careful to make sure that it does not fill up on you. I usually go with

20GB + swap for a new install.

As always, because this is an in-place upgrade, make sure you have good

backups in place.
