Still getting warning that licensing TS will expire

A client has called for some help with their TS. They had a 2000 single

server domain with TS Licensing running. A 2003 server has been added and to

the domain. This server is running TS Licensing that is activated with 20

installed licenses. It is reporting 42 days before TS is turned off. We tried

reactivating. When TS Licensing MMC is opened on the 2003 server, only the

2000 License server shows. The 2003 license server can be connected to from

the action menu and then shows the 20 2003 licenses available but it does not

appear to be issuing licenses.

I'm not sure at all about your setup:

> a 2000 single server domain with TS Licensing

so where is the Terminal Server itself? On the same server, meaning

one server is DC, TS and TS LS?

> A 2003 server has been added to the domain. This server is

added as what? member server? DC?

TS Licensing Server: Enterprise or Domain?

Which server is running TS, and which OS is the TS running?

Which type of licenses are installed on the 2003 TS Licensing

Server, Per Device or Per User?

The solution could be as simple as to point your TS to your LS (but

how you do that depends on the OS on the TS), but it could also be

that you have installed the wrong type of licenses, or that the

license type doesn't match the licensing mode of the TS.

So please repost with more information, then it will be easy to

fix.

Re: Still getting warning that licensing TS will expire

It is working now by configuring the 2003 TS Server (that is also a DC) to

point to itself as the licensing server. It has 20 TS 2003 licenses installed

and has started using those licenses.

Thank you for your time and for these forums.
