Guest Jason (Vertexx) Posted January 23, 2008 Posted January 23, 2008 We would like to replace the main DC with a new computer with the same name. This would keep file share paths and DNS entries the same for client Note: There is a another DC in this site. There is also a DC in another site connected through a VLAN over the Internet. Does the process I have below sound like it will work. Process -transfer main FSMO roles to another DC -demote DC -name new computer same name as original main DC -install active directory on new server -move main FSMO roles back to DC
