Guest T_A_C Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 I'm running NTbackup with a VS160 tape drive on my file server. It goes over the network to grab my exchange and sql backup files and write them to tape. I'm getting the error: ------------------------------- Backup started on 1/10/2008 at 12:03 AM. WARNING: Portions of "\Exchange.bkf" cannot be read. The backed up data is corrupt or incomplete. This file will not restore correctly. Backup completed on 1/10/2008 at 2:44 AM. Directories: 1 Files: 2 Corrupt: 1 Bytes: 43,685,847,664 Time: 2 hours, 41 minutes, and 41 seconds ----------------------------------- I only get this error on the exchange file. I've made sure that the exchange and the file server have no processes that cross times with the backup. Could it be a file size limit? It's a 40+GB file over the network! The file itself is an NTbackup file (i use NTbackup to backup my exchange server, and it finishes with no errors, so I know the file is good). help....???
Guest T_A_C Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 RE: NTBackup over network Now that MS has taken W2003 server off the Technet forums and has only this "newsgroup" for an online forum type of support.... AND seeing as how W2003 server is probably the most widely used server OS... I have come to the definite conclusion that MS has either made a HUGE mistake, or someone in the decision making process is "a brick short of a full load".... THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE BIGGEST WAIST OF TIME TO POST YOUR ISSUE ON THIS NEWSGROUP!!! Apparently, no technicians on the MS payroll participate in these groups, and now that they've taken 2003 off of technet... we're screwed, (unless we want to pay hundreds of dollars to open an case with MS, and have someone in India read a book script to us! I'm disappointed... "T_A_C" wrote: > I'm running NTbackup with a VS160 tape drive on my file server.
