Guest Jabez Gan [MVP] Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Re: Windows 2008 server HyperV can you check if your BIOS has virtualization enabled? Once you have enable it, please shut down your machine and do a cold boot. This is necessary to get virtualization to work. Once booted up again, see if VMM service starts. -- Jabez Gan Microsoft MVP: Windows Server - File Storage "Lehr" <Lehr@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:EA9490F0-6074-4EF7-AB29-24111692E184@microsoft.com... >I installed Windows 2008 server with HypeV tp try virtualization fetaures >in > new server OS. What is cold boot?:) you mean to unplug the cable and put it back...and to turn it on? "Jabez Gan [MVP]" wrote: > can you check if your BIOS has virtualization enabled? Guest Jabez Gan [MVP] Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Re: Windows 2008 server HyperV Yeah cold boot as in shutdown PC, unplug and replug... It's part of the HyperV requirement that MS told the world. And guess you are right with the language requirement too. I'm sure MS will be fixing this before RTM. :) -- Jabez Gan Microsoft MVP: Windows Server - File Storage "Lehr" <Lehr@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:5EBF9468-EEE7-4814-B338-32D7C2586931@microsoft.com... > Btw... > > Windows 2008 Server with HyperV. > virtual machine management service is the service that refuses to start. > When I tried to start it manualy I get errorr 87: virtual machine > management > service cannot start at local machine.
