Guest ulyses_96 Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 RE: RRAS VPN drops connection after attempting to map network drive I have tested more and found this out. only this particular client disconnects after about 2 minutes of being connected to VPN. other clients stay on, with no problem. it doesn't matter whether i try to map a shared drive or not it just disconnects after about 2 mins. turned off windows firewall. turned off norton AV. turned off anti spyware. still disconnecting.. -- ulyses96 "ulyses_96" wrote: > > > I have a problem and maybe there is a guru here who can give me a hand: > What i have: > I'm running a win2003 server with sp1 > i use it as my vpn server . > i use RRAS > > clients connect fine. > > problem: > once connected if client tries to map a network share the connection get's > dropped. the whole VPN connection get's dropped. i've tried looking at the > RRAS logs but they are pretty cryptic. not much help there. > > > -- > ulyses96

Is this client machine at someone's house when this happens, or in the office? Have you tested it side by side with the others in the office? The test will tell you if it works in the office or not with the VPN. If it is only disconnecting at the client's site, then it may mean something up with their ISP link, or if ADSL, it is falling asleep, if cable, they maybe having problems with disconnects, etc. It could be any number of things,. That was why I wanted to know if it disconnects at the office. How about taking it to your house, assuming you have a good connection at home. Does it disconnect there as well? Ace
