Guest Don Phillipson Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Does anyone know what Windows code fragment _delis is supposed to do? It may belong to OE (v.6.00.2800.1123) or perhaps Winfax v.8 (just reinstalled, not yet patched/updated) was associated with an odd system hang (revealed by Ctl Alt Del but would not unload on command) then total system hang ("Cannot write to C: when nothing was supposed to be writing to C.) -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada)
Guest Gary S. Terhune Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Re: code fragment _delis http://support.microsoft.com/kb/231978 _delis errors result from an InstallShield installation. Not sure what it does, always thought of it as a cleanup routine (DEL installation files), and I'm probably wrong. In any case, the above gives the most obvious solution: Disable AV before installing. Recommend you uninstall WinFax and try again. -- Gary S.
