I SET THE ORIGINAL AS MASTER AND THE NEWISH ONE TO SLAVE....SO I SWAPPED THEM AROUND STILL NO JOY..........IF I UNPLUG THE NEWISH ONE AND THEN IT DOES RECOGNISE THE ORIGINAL BUT AS SOON AS I CONNECT THE NEWISH ONE THEN IT DOESNT RECOGNISE ANY................DOES THIS MEAN THE NEWISH ONE IS FAULTY OR AM I DOING SOMETHING TOTALLY WRONG

Hello and welcome.

No caps please the loudness is deafening me.:D

Ok what sort of drives are they?

Do they attach via IDE cable?

If yes put the master on the end connection and the slave in the middle.

Now are they reconised on the post screen or in BIOS/Setup?

Remeber diffrent make and models of drives may require a diffrent jumper setting.

You do not have them attached to the hard drive cable?

Thankyou babe.

Jumper settings.

Look on the end of the CD/DVD drives you will see pins and a little plastic peice.

This plastic peice needs to be set as master or slave.

There should be a sticker on the CD/DVD rom drives to show which setting is correct.

Do not worry about turning the PC off we are still her,me I am always here.
