hi please can you help!

ive been using my desktop through my TV and for some reason its now coming up as no signal so i thought the res setting had been lost for some reason as this has happened in the past. I got hold of my old vdu, plugged it in and nothing. i have notice that when the vga lead is out the screen says no signal but when its pluged into the pc it goes blank\black and the light on the front of the vdu flashes.

I cant get the old vdu to work as secondary screen on my laptop either, same thing happens!

I hope you can understand my waffle, Thanks Ky

Hi Kyanther, welcome to Extreme Tech Support - Free PC Help

It sounds like your resolution is set too high for either the TV or the monitor to display.

Connect the PC to the monitor, then start it up, but repetedly press F8 duing startup and you should get to a menu that will have the option 'Enable VGA Mode'

Select it, and then windows will start, but in a default low resolution. Go into display options and set your resolution back to one that the TV and monitor can safely handle.
