steblack6 Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo-li 2727 Laptop Windows Vista Home Premium Dear Computer Support folk, I did a stupid thing today... As far as I am aware I have two sections of my hard drive which comes up on the my computer section, D drive and C drive. C drive seemed to only have 30gb worth of memory on it so I thought it would be a good idea to move everything from drive C into Drive D, as drive C was getting full. Without realising it at the time, my operating system was in drive C at the time and I assume that it automatically loads up drive C when it boots upon start up? It took a bit of time transfering files but with it saying I had 5 seconds to go I got a blue screen of death and my laptop restarted. Now when I turn on my computer it comes up PXE-E61 : MEDIA TEST FAILURE, CHECK CABLE PXE-M0F : Exiting PXE ROM Operating system not found. Tried going to manufacturer but they were useless. Thanks in advance... Stephen Quote
Jelly Bean Posted September 7, 2009 Posted September 7, 2009 Hello and welcome to the forum. It appears you may of corrupted your operating system and moved some boot files. Do you have the recovery disks or install disk? Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
freddiel Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Vista Help Hi, I got the same laptop as you (Amilo Li 2727) a year ago as a birthday prez, and just after the years warranty ran out, i updated windows (windows home basic) Using live update when it appeared in the task bar. I then restarted my laptop and it would not boot up it said there was a problem and it gave me a choice run bug fix or run windows normally. I ran windows normally and it froze n turned off so i started it again and went on bug fix. It then ran throught bug fix and told me to use the boot up disks and if u have this laptop u will know that you have to create your own but every time i did the message to create them came up. So i looked round my room for my disks, i found my back-ups (the ones that you do every 30 days on the laptop) and put back-up 1 in. It then froze and would not move. so I tryed my other back-ups but non of them would unfreaze it. Then it restarted but this time it just said No Operating System Found. I then sent it off to my dads mate who took a look at it he said there was nothing he could do it was just not responding. I got it back today (which was a week since i gave it to him) and now it boots up and says.... Intel UNDI, PXE-2.1 (build 082) Copyright © 1997-2000 Intel Corporation For Realtek RTL8101E 10/100 PCI-Express Ethernet Adapter v1.03 (070618) PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM Operating System not found What do I do? HELP! Quote
Jelly Bean Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Hello and welcome. Ahhh I see what they did. The BIOS has been set to boot from your network adaptor. Are you able to restart the machine and enter BIOS/Setup? That is restart and press F1 key. Locate Boot tab and set your boot order as follows: Hard drive. CD/DVD rom. Make your network adaptor Realtek the last one or turn it off so your machine will not boot from it,disable boot from LAN. Save and exit. Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
Jelly Bean Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Once above is done and you can now logon to windows. Shut down the Amilio and then restart and do the following: Solution: This hidden partition contains an image of the software preload. This image is part of a new recovery process called HDBR (Hard Disk Based Recovery). Pressing [F8] during the boot process the advanced Windows® start option will appear with the new option: "repair computer". Choosing this option a Windows Recovery Environment will be started. Additionally to the tools of MS Windows Vista itself you will find a Fujitsu Recovery Tool. This tool allows you to set the software of the computer back to the delivery state. If you delete the hidden partition this feature is no longer available. If you have the hidden partition which I think you do the above will recover your machine to factory reset but please remember all files will be lost.So back up and data you wish to save to an external hard drive or disks before you boot into recovery console. Also with the Fujitsu laptops once you have run the recovery you will get a popup window every time you logon to your computer saying to burn the recovery console to disk. I fully advise you to do this ASAP. Quote Rwy'n ceisio fy ngorau......................
